What Happened to Gwanda Solar Project? How Much Was Paid? When Will Zimbabwe Get the Power?
Zimbabwe's planned 100 MW Gwanda solar station became a prolonged test of procurement, finance and contract management. This audit separates the original US$172.8 million contract from roughly US$5.6–5.7 million in differently classified early payments, the civil judgments and the reported restart. At the 1 October 2026 evidence cut-off, current financial close and physical delivery remained unverified in the material reviewed.
